The Most Important Things To Know About Lanyards & Lanyard Patterns
A lanyard is a rope or cord often worn around the neck or wrist to carry a small object, while keeping the hands themselves free. These days they have become a fashion item in themselves and you'll invariably see them used to carry keys and cell phones, lip balm and mp3 players. Their history goes back many hundreds of years and they originally had a military function. They were used to carry swords or pistols. And aboard ship, they referred to a piece of rigging used to secure objects, or to a cord with a hook at the end which was used to fire a cannon. Lanyards are the perfect thing to augment ones corporate look at concerts, festivals, tradeshows, job site security, retail outlets and any other use you can conceive of. The underlying task of a neck lanyard is to grip something important to make certain it does not get lost.
